Sierra Leone curfew: Samura Kamara suggests that we heed security orders
Sierra Leone opposition, All People’s Congress leader Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara has advised Sierra Leoneans to follow security orders issued by the government to sustain the peace of the country.
He said, peace and unity are paramount for national building hence, there is the need for everyone to make peace.
“The peace,unity and safety of our country are paramount and everything else will follow for a prosperous and secure Sierra Leone. This country needs the peaceful energies of each and every one of us to build, sustain a better future for all.” Kamara wrote on his X.
His comment follows the security threat in the country on Sunday, 26th November, 2023.
Sierra Leone has declared a nationwide curfew after unidentified gunmen attacked a military barracks and attempted to break into an armoury in the capital, Freetown, the government said today.
The government said in a statement that the security forces were in control of the situation.
“A nationwide curfew has been declared with immediate effect across the country. We strongly advise citizens to stay indoors,” the statement added.

We are woken up today, Sunday, 26th November, 2023 with a security threat in this, our beloved country, Sierra Leone. I wish to draw from the Public Notice by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education to stress the critical importance of the advice contained therein.
The Government has announced a nationwide curfew effective immediately. We are all advised to stay indoors while the state security forces are taking control of the situation.
Let us all pay heed to this Advice and continue to put our Faith and Trust in God Almighty and pray that all will be over sooner rather than later, taking us back to our normal life soonest. His Mercies endureth forever.
