Osun Guber: I am confident that the Tribunal will declare me the winner – Gov. Oyetola
Gboyega Oyetola, the governor of Osun state, believes the Osun Election Petition Tribunal will overturn Sen Ademola Adeleke’s victory and declare him the winner of the July 16 election.
Mr. Oyetola made the claims on Sunday during the annual Photography and Videography Day celebration in Osogbo.
Mr Oyetola, who was represented by Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, his Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, stated that his faith in the judiciary was unshaken.
“For now, there is a little setback and challenge, but I want to assure you that we are standing tall and confident of victory.
“With what we have before the tribunal, there is no cause for alarm.
“We believe that by the grace of God, we will glorify God and celebrate our victory,” he said.
The governor expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their support of his administration since its inception in 2018.
He also thanked members of the association for their support of his administration, assuring them of the government’s ongoing support for the expansion of their businesses.
On August 5, Mr. Oyetola filed a petition with the election tribunal, challenging the results of the July 16 governorship election, which was won by Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
