Manchester United has a new signing. Casemiro requests that Cristiano Ronaldo remain at the club
Casemiro, Manchester United’s new signing, has stated that he wants Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at the club ahead of his move to Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old midfielder will join United from Real Madrid for £70 million and is expected to be unveiled ahead of tonight’s match against Liverpool.
Casemiro played alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid, and he hopes the ‘incredible’ forward, with whom he won a number of trophies, including four Champions League titles, stays at the club despite an uncertain future.
‘I hope Cristiano stays, I want to play with him again, he’s incredible,’ he said.
‘I can’t wait to play again with Cristiano Ronaldo.’
Earlier this summer, Ronaldo informed the club that he wanted to leave and missed the majority of pre-season in order to secure a move to a Champions League team.
Meanwhile, Casemiro has hit back at those who claim he is moving to Old Trafford for financial gain, claiming that if that were the case, he would have left Real Madrid long ago.
‘Are you leaving for money?’ People who say this clearly do not know who I am. They are incorrect. If it had been about money, he would have left four years ago.
With a reported £375,000-per-week contract, Casemiro is expected to be one of the club’s highest earners, alongside David De Gea.
